状语从句是在复合句中充当状语的从句，修饰主句的谓语动词、形容词或整个主句，表示时间、地点、原因、条件、目的、结果、让步、方式、比较等逻辑关系。由从属连词引导，位置灵活(句首时用逗号隔开)。
一、5类核心状语从句：
① 时间状语从句(when/while/as/before/after/until/since/as soon as/the moment):
When I arrived at the station, the train had already left. 当我到达车站时，火车已经开走了。
I was reading while he was watching TV. 他在看电视时我在读书。(while强调时间段，常接进行时)
As the sun went down, the sky turned orange. 随着太阳下山，天空变成了橙色。
⚠️ until用法: 主句延续性动词→用until；主句短暂动词→用not until。He didn't go to bed until his mother came back. 直到妈妈回来他才睡觉。
② 条件状语从句(if/unless/as long as/on condition that):
If it rains tomorrow, we will stay at home. 如果明天下雨，我们就待在家。(主将从现)
You won't succeed unless you work hard. 除非努力，否则你不会成功。(unless=if not)
③ 原因状语从句(because/since/as/now that):
Because he was ill, he didn't come to school. 因为他病了，所以没来上学。(because语气最强，回答why)
Since everyone is here, let's begin. 既然大家都到了，我们开始吧。(since表示已知原因)
⚠️ because和so不可同时使用！Because it rained, we stayed home. = It rained, so we stayed home.(二选一)
④ 让步状语从句(although/though/even though/even if/whether...or):
Although he is young, he knows a lot. 虽然他很年轻，但他懂得很多。
Even if it rains, I will go. 即使下雨我也会去。
⚠️ although/though不可与but同时使用！选择其一即可。
⑤ 结果状语从句(so...that / such...that):
The problem is so difficult that nobody can solve it. 这个问题如此难，没有人能解决。
She is such a good teacher that all students love her. 她是如此好的老师，所有学生都喜欢她。
⚠️ so + adj/adv + that; such + (a/an) + adj + 名词 + that
二、⚠️ 主将从现：时间/条件状语从句中用一般现在时代替一般将来时:
If it rains tomorrow, we will cancel the trip. 如果明天下雨，我们就取消旅行。(从句用rains不是will rain)
When he comes, please tell him the news. 他来时请告诉他这个消息。(从句用comes不是will come)
